Student Incubation Programme –
Cross platform mobile app development using Javascript, fully remote work
SmartMob believes in the future of South Africa and the importance of the role on our youth will be playing. We therefore created a Student Incubation Programme to provide real-life, on-the-job training to qualifying students.
The programme gives them such a boost in confidence and allow them to start their careers with relevant work experience!

We have a few openings for students with exposure to JavaScript programming to be trained into full-stack developers, developing on real projects in an Agile environment.
All work are remote and flexible hours. We just require you to attend two “stand-up” meetings using MS Teams per week at set times.
Learn the following:
- Front-end development with Ionic/Angular frameworks and Capacitor
- Backend development using SQL database for data storage and an Express.js API running on node.js
- Using GIT for version control
- Using DevOps for project planning and progress tracking
- CI/CD pipelines
- Testing processes
The following minimum requirements applies:
- Good understanding of JavaScript (we may ask you for a skills test)
- Passion to learn
- Good team work skills
- Professional ethics
- 10-20 hours commitment per week
- Good quality laptop with SSD drive (i5/Ryzen 5 or better)
- Good quality fibre link for Teams video calls and remote work
